37 Filipino scholars set to study in Australia

Thirty-seven Filipino leaders are heading to Australia this January 2020 to pursue postgraduate studies in areas that are key to Philippine development such as trade and economics, digital economy, infrastructure and smart cities, and peace and development. Before leaving for Australia, the scholars underwent a pre-departure briefing to prepare them for living and studying in Australia, and to help them finalise their re-entry action plans (REAPs).

PHL Ambassador to Au visits Filipino scholars in CMU-A

Ambassador Ma. Hellen De La Vega, Philippine envoy to Australia, met with the Australia Awards Scholarships awardees of Carnegie Mellon University in Australia (CMU-A) last 28 October. Ambassador De La Vega commended the Filipino scholars who are currently taking up master’s degree in the field of public policy and information technology.

Outstanding alumnus awarded a University Medal by the Australian National University

Kayla Marie Sarte, an Australia Awards alumnus who took up Master of General and Applied Linguistics from the Australian National University has been awarded by the university with the University Medal for 2019. The University Medal recognises students who have obtained First Class Honours (or Masters Advanced Equivalent) and demonstrated exceptional academic excellence across their studies.
